The Future is BRIGHT!
JORDAN RUDES write:
I have been playing shows all over this planet for years with the FreeHand MusicPad. It has been a rock solid piece of gear that has performed beautifully for me in every concert I have done! This is important when realizing that Freehand has now entered the Ipad arena where there are more apps then sand on the beach! Important because FreeHand is a major publisher who has a great library of music that is accessible through this app. Basically that means that if you want a song, you can go purchase it online and then synchronize this app and it will become part of your library. I love this direct tie in to a large library like that!
The other thing that I know about this app is that this is just the beginning. FreeHand has the know how and understanding of the features that need to be part of a great music reader app. I'm certain that over the coming months we will begin to see things added to this that will make everyone smile! It might also be important to note that this app is FREE. This is a real company of qualified experienced music people who are in the sheet music business. That means a lot to me!!

Music Pad to iPad. Great!
Terry from Seattle write:
I have owned the Freehand music pads for years. They are arguably the most stable piece of equipment on stage and I've never had problems with them. Now that the iPad is here this is the logical step. I downloaded this app and it although it seems to be a work in progress, I can see that it may be a God-send for me. The beauty of the MusicPad Pro was simplicity of use and it looks like they are headed in the right direction here.
I really think the iPad is too small right now, but I am all over getting this app running and being able to migrate my 1300 song library on to it.
Keep up the good work Freehand.
I Wouldn't Perform Without it
Tom from Pennsylvania write:
I've used my MusicPad for over a year now and love it. It took a while to learn how to download the music, but once I got the hang of it I've learned to appreciate it. I'm a pianist and have a problem turning pages (can't tell you how many times I've thrown sheet music on the floor while performing). It does take time to scan the music -- but most similar products require that. On the plus side, my performances are easier and hassle-free, as far as controlling the sheet music. On the down side, the MusicPad is bulky, heavy, and slips off some pianos. I transfer my music from my scanner to the MusicPad using a flash drive -- much simpler. The MusicPad doesn't have a cover for the screen which makes it vulnerable for cracking or breaking. It's not user friendly, but, once it is up and running it is really is a valuable tool. I wouldn't perform without it. Now that there is an app for the iPad I'm going to try that. The iPad has a much longer battery life -- MusicPad's battery life is too short. I once had it die on me while performing, so I plug it in rather than rely on the battery. The folks at FreeHand had something good here -- they just need to streamline some of the flaws, which they hadn't done.
